This Year’s Trainer Trends: 2023

Each year, the fashion world changes and we are faced with fresh trends, styles and the most popular trainers. These are the trainers that everyone has been wearing this year, will wear next year and the year after. More importantly, these are the pairs you should already have in rotation.

What is a footwear collection without trainer, after all? This is the way...

This Year's Trainer Trends

Join TOWER as we head on-court, obtain the runner’s high, stomp into some flatforms and explore previously uncharted territories with TOWER’s most popular pairs of the year on-foot.

Of course, you don’t have to listen – however, we like to think that we know a thing or two about trainers.

COURT TRAINERS AND CANVAS TRAINERS

Let’s make this clear – these are not for runners! You won’t be completing a marathon in our selection of vulcanised or cupsole silhouettes, they’re designed to get you from A-to-B without breaking stride; styles that look cool whilst keeping your feet even cooler. Here, we’d be considering Superga, some of our New Balance and VEJA; a little canvas, a little leather, a whole lot of style.

RUNNER’S HIGH

Okay, now it’s time for runners. Inspired by those making a statement, those looking for day-long comfort alongside immense styling; it’s not enough to make each step, but you must experience the underfoot feel, too. To achieve a runner’s high, we’re encouraging you to explore EVA soles, dual-density midsoles and even GEL. So, are you lacing up New Balance, FILA or Lacoste?

FLATFORM, CHUNKY FOOTWEAR

Big-steppers, heavy dressers. Flatforms aren’t just for special occasions, they’re for staying active, too. A flatform can take many forms (get it), and today we’re looking at some of our favourites. We’ve seen a huge rise in the rocking of flatforms around London – there's no mistaking it, exaggerated soles are here to stay. Have a gloss over some offerings from Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger and Kickers.
